Another concert, car show planned during tuna fest

A CALTEX dealer in General Santos has vowed to stage another musical concert and car show during the weeklong Tuna Festival in September.

Sam Dorego, owner of two Caltex pump stations here, bared that the staging of musical concert and car show right in his gas station along National Highway near the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) during the Kalilangan Festival in February was a big success.

Dorego wanted to duplicate the staging of such colorful event as his humble contribution to the city's regular annual big events.

Viva Hotbabes Sarah Jessica Parker graced the random musical concert staged by Dorego right at his own Caltex fuel station.

The Caltex retail owner was also amazed by the success of the first outdoor car show dubbed "Gensan Street Tuners" attended by about 12 car enthusiasts. During the show, the spectators were amused if not enamored by an array of embellished cars modified by the owners to suit and meet their likings.

Dorego said the initiative was in support to the current thrust of Chevron to promote clean environment and enhance community involvement.

Chevron provided the T-shirt uniform, gloves, caps and even cleaning tools used by the 200 street cleaners tasked to maintain the cleanliness of the oval plaza during the 2008 Kalilangan Festival.

The clean-up drive is in line with Chevron's promotion of Techron product.

Techron, formerly known as techroline, is a patented additive developed by Chevron consisting of a family of compounds known as polyether amines. It reduces accumulation of deposits in fuel injectors and on intake valves, and prevents or removes sulfur deposits from fuel sending units.

With the advent of Techron, Chevron gasoline became the first fuels designated as meeting top tier standards for fuel cleanliness.
