RPA-ABB slams Piccio on arms confiscation

SAN JOSE, Antique -- Juan Lamprea, alias Kumander Jerry Liwanag, provincial head of the RPA-ABB here condemned Belison Mayor Christopher Piccio's confiscation of firearms from the five members of the reformist group of the southern command, a Capitol press release reported.

The five RPA-ABB members were said to have been led by a certain Ka Teloy. They were apprehended by men of the mayor at Barangay Sinaja last December 28 who also confiscated their firearms.

Liwanag, the same source added, dared Piccio to act on the reported rampant cattle rustling in his town so as to dispel any suspicion that this is being perpetrated by the police.

"A big NOT! Politically motivated," Kumander Jerry was quoted to say, as he dismissed the allegation that his group is supporting Gov. Perez and that they expressed that support by harassing and coercing barangay officials to support Perez's candidates in the last ABC election.

"We have our own structure and we don't campaign for any political group as we have our own programs to implement," Kumander Jerry added, the same source said.
