Andig may face dismissal

BEWARE members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who will be caught carrying firearms in civilian clothes for you may face dismissal from the service.

This was the warning of PCR chief, Senior Supt Norlito Bautista, following the case of SPO3 Domingo Andig who was nabbed by PP1 elements carrying firearms while in civilian clothes Friday last week alaong Arroyo St., City Proper.

Bautista also said that aside from criminal prosecution, Andig may also face administrative charges for conduct becoming having been caught taking intoxicating liquor during the same incident.

"If found guilty," Bautista said, "Andig can be dismissed from the service."

He also informed that any civilian caught carrying firearms outside residence will be held liable for violation of the guidelines by the Chief PNP Hermogenes Ebdane.

They will charged under the gun ban or in violation of RA 8294 per executive order of President Gloria Arroyo.

Andig, who remains at large, is also charged for possessing unlicensed firearms for his failure to show his license and memorandum receipt for his firearm as a government issue.

Arroyo road, he is also liable of said administrative sanction.
