Motels expect a `full house' today
By Ronilo Ladrido Pamonag

COUPLES wanting to have a little privacy today might end up looking for a room somewhere else.

Motel operators in the City expect a "full house" today, Valentine's Day, and with it also a brisk business.

"It is always expected anywhere," Edward Francisco, manager of Sophia's Lodge in Molo, told Sun.Star Iloilo yesterday.

However, he clarified that they cannot be sure that, indeed, today, all motels will be fully-booked.

He pointed out that in the past on Feb. 14, their rooms would usually be fully occupied.

When asked who mostly their customers are, "...those who have forbidden relationships..." he said.

A front desk officer of Queen's Court, a motel in Barangay Bolilao, Manduarriao, also said that they would be "quite full" during Valentine's Day.

And like Francisco, said front desk officer is not, however, sure that they will be fully-booked today.

"How things are tomorrow (today) may also depend on other things," the officer explained.

Both of them said that they usually have more customers on Feb. 14 of each year compared to other days.

An employee of The Q Drive-in Motel in Jereos, LaPaz also said yesterday that they expect their rooms to be full today.

Sophia's Lodge, according to Francisco, has 82 air-conditioned rooms. Queen's Court, on the other hand, has more than 50 rooms, said its front desk officer.
