Pillbox explosion near Marymart mall By Ruby P. Silubrico
ANOTHER improvised bomb, locally known as 'dalugdug' exploded Wednesday night near Marymart mall in Valeria-Delgado Sts.
Last Sunday afternoon, a pillbox blast ripped through the men's comfort room of the Marymart mall.
Not like Sunday's blast wherein two were injured, Wednesday's blast exploded hurt no one.
Police reports said that a huge explosion was heard at around 8:45 p.m., near the overpass in the intersection fronting the mall.
The blast damaged the galvanized sheet wall of the overpass.
However, a male person who refused to be identified was reported to have been slightly injured in the forehead after he was hit by a piece of the galvanized sheet.
Witnesses said that several bystanders, mostly streetchildren, were loitering near the blast site prior to the explosion.
An explosion was later heard.
This is the second explosion to rock the area in less than a week.
Jose Paulo 'Jimboy' Roldan, an 18-year-old car wash boy, and mall utility worker Marvin Rafael were slightly injured when Roldan's pillbox accidentally fell to the floor of the comfort room and exploded.
Roldan has already been charged with illegal possession of explosive, physical injury and damage to property before the City Prosecutor's Office.
