Toto E's brod escapes police dragnet By Jay Dooma Balnig
THE brother of former anti-smut campaigner Pascual Espinosa was able to evade arresting police by escaping through the back door of his mother's house in Zamora St., City Proper.
This came after the Task Force Waterfront, led by Supt. Inocencio Capuno served the warrant of arrest, issued 1 p.m. Thursday by Regional Trial Court Branch 30 Presiding Judge Adriano Savillo.
The arrest warrant, which recommended no bailbond, is for the murder charge filed by the police against Espinosa for the death of Kevin Apolinario also in Zamora sometime late last year.
After the warrant was issued, the Task Force Waterfront under Supt. Inocencio Capuno served the warrant immediately in his house in Zamora.
But Espinosa escaped through the back door of his mother's house, Capuno said.
He said that he saw Espinosa while they were entering the compound. Seeing them, Espinosa hid in his mother's house, Capuno said.
Immediately, Capuno organized his men to conduct checkpoints in every exit. A manhunt operation against Espinosa is being conducted as of presstime.
The issuance of the arrest warrant happened after the Iloilo City Prosecutor's Office denied the motion for reconsideration filed by Espinosa's counsel, lawyer Fortunato Padilla Jr.
Espinosa was charged with murder after several children pointed to him as the one who shot and killed Apolinario several months ago.
