Big-time drug dealer from La Paz arrested
By Ruby P. Silubrico

A BIG-TIME drug dealer in Iloilo City was arrested Thursday by operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group and the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force in his residence in Block 2, Villa Carolina Subdivision, La Paz District.

The suspect, Ray Oņang, is now detained at the cell of Police Precinct 2 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Supt. Ruel Pama, head of the raiding team, said that prior to the raid, a poseur-buyer bought shabu worth P300 from the suspect.

Recovered from Oņang were two elongated big sachets and two smaller sachets of shabu weighing a total of four grams.

Oņang was under surveillance for a week after which the police secured a warrant of arrest from Judge Evelyn Salao of Branch 25 of the Regional Trial Court.

A source said Oņang is a big-time drug dealer who supplies drugs to drug pushers in the city and the nearby towns.

He has reportedly a supplier from Metro Manila.

Police protection

Oņang was also arrested last year during a raid conducted by the La Paz Police Station but he was able to post bail.

The source said that four police officers are reportedly protecting Oņang.

They are now being closely watched, the source added.

Of the four, three are non-commissioned police officers while the other is a high-ranking official.
