Parricide, frustrated homicide vs pa By Ruby P. Silubrico
PARRICIDE and frustrated homicide charges will be filed against a father who stabbed dead his daughter and shot his son-in-law during an altercation last Saturday in their home in Maasin, Iloilo.
The suspect, Ildefonso Pillano, who is in his 60s, said he only killed his daughter Lourdes Doromal, 41, for self-defense.
His other children, however, are determined to file charges against him.
Pillano, now under the custody of the Maasin police, shot his son-in-law Celestino, 52, after the latter intervened in his argument with his daughter.
The suspect said he stabbed his daughter using a 14-inch knife. He claimed that it was his daughter who stabbed him first.
Doromal's husband is still confined at the Iloilo Doctor's Hospital as he sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said Pillano, who was reportedly drunk, went to his daughter's house at around 8:30 p.m. to confront her about their family's real properties.
Doromal, apparently angered by her father's actions, argued with him, prompting the latter to stab her in the chest.
When Celestino, who was at the second floor of their house, went down to check the commotion, his father-in-law shot him thrice.
