Daguiao Foundation to conduct youth workcamp
UNIVERSITY students, youth leaders, and young professionals get the most out of your Christmas vacation.
On December 26 to 30, join the annual Christmas Work Camp of the Iloilo-based Daguiao Foundation Inc. (DFI), a not-for-profit undertaking.
The volunteer work will focus on the repair and repainting of the buildings of the Cabatuan Central Elementary School.
Together with various corporate sponsors, the DFI has been holding Christmas Work Camps in Iloilo and Guimaras since 1991.
These innovative "vacations" of solidarity and camaraderie find volunteers among young professionals and students of schools and institutions like the University of the Philippines, West Visayas State University, Westbridge School, University of San Agustin, Central Philippine University, and University of St. La Salle-Bacolod.
The organizers consider the Work Camp as one important step to providing the Ilonggo youth with the needed human, cultural, spiritual, and professional formation so that they can be responsible Christians, and be effective citizens.
For more details on how you can help out, call Mr. Rene Tan or Mr. Roger Sarmiento at tel no. 337-03-51, or visit them at Tuburan Study Center at no. 49 Gen. Luna St., Iloilo City on or before December 15.
