Rerouting scheme for Dinagyang out

THE Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) released the traffic-rerouting scheme to be enforced during the highlights of the Dinagyang Festival 2005 on January 22 and 23.

Senior Insp. Carlos Guarin, chief of TMEU, said trucks and provincial public utility vehicles (PUVs) will be banned from entering the city center during these days.

Instead, they shall be allowed to have temporary terminal at different districts.

Public utility vehicles plying southern Iloilo can park at the Iloilo Fishing Port Complex in Molo while those plying central Iloilo, at Ungka, Jaro in front of Christ the King.

The Aleosan (Alimodian-Leon-San Miguel) lines will only be allowed until Taft North, Mandurriao, while the northern lines at Tagbak, Jaro in front of The Metropolis.

One-way traffic

Streets which will have one-way traffic are San Agustin St.-from Gen. Luna St. up to Delgado Street, a portion of Jalandoni St. from Ledesma St. up to Rizal St.; Portion of Jalandoni St., from Ledesma St. up to Delgado St., from Delgado St. to Infante Ave.; portion of Delgado St., from Jalandoni St. up to Mabini St., Fuentes St., from Delgado St. up to Ledesma St.; Fuentes St., from Rizal St. up to Ledesma St., Mabini area from De Leon St. up to Rizal St.; Quezon St. up to De Leon St., from the corner of Valeria St. towards Jalandoni St., from Jalandoni St. towards Valeria St., then Huervas St. and from corner Dela Rama St. towards Muelle Loney St.; Dela Rama St., from the corner of San Jose de Calazans St., towards Huervas St.; Muelle Loney St., from Rizal St., Lapaz towards the foot of Lopez Quirino Bridge; in Rizal St., Lapaz, from the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal at Lapuz towards Muelle Loney; then Jaruda Promenade from the foot of Muelle Loney Bridge towards Bonifacio Drive, and Joveler's Drive, starting from the corner of Muelle Loney St. towards Bonifacio Drive.
