San Jose Parish brings Dinagyang treat to kids
CLOSE to 300 children from different barangays around the San Jose Parish area in the City Proper took part in the Dinagyang treat organized by the San Jose Catholic School last January 15.
The activity started with a mass, which was followed by a series of parlor games.
Also part of the game was a clean-up contest wherein children were asked to gather as many candy wrappers as they can to win candies, chocolates, and mallows.
The children were also given a lunch treat and giveaways.
Carlo Jaca and Alvin John Zapanta, members of the parish youth organization, facilitated the games.
Student teachers from University of San Agustin were among the volunteers.
The event is a yearly activity started in 1998.
It is being held part of the Dinagyang celebration.
San Jose Parish, under Rev. Fr. Roy Margallo, reaches out to the children in honor of Señor Sto. Niño.
The Hermano and Hermana Mayor, who are Mayor Jerry Treñas and his wife Rosalie, sponsor this activity. (Irene Rose Ortigas)
