Police monitors cops involved in drug operations By Ruby P. Silubrico
THE Iloilo City Police Office is now conducting a counter-intelligence check on policemen allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
Senior Superintendent Norlito Bautista, city police director, said he received information on the activities of these policemen and would want to validate the report.
Bautista said he wants to know who are the specific persons being protected by these policemen--drug lords, financiers or pushers.
One of Bautista's main thrusts is the drive against illegal drugs and as the police office embarks on this campaign, he said, he wants to clean their own backyard as well.
Bautista said Chief Inspector Julio Gustilo, newly designated intelligence officer, already submitted to him the names of drug pushers under their watchlist.
"We are now starting our operations because I have already their names," he said.
Bautista said they will focus on Barangy Bakhaw in Mandurriao district, believed to be the main source of illegal drugs both in Iloilo City and Province.
