Other justice dep't offices still on 4-day sked
DESPITE the order to return to their old work schedule, some offices under the Department of Justice 6 like the Parole and Probation Office will continue to follow the four-day workweek scheme.
This was confirmed by Regional State Prosecutor Domingo Laurea in a telephone interview Thursday.
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez earlier issued Department Circular 16-A, directing all employees under the National Prosecution Service and Public Attorney's Office as exempted from the coverage of Administrative Order (AO) 117 issued by Malacañang.
The circular amends the circular Gonzalez issued last Friday, directing all offices under the DOJ to adopt the four-day workweek scheme.
But Circular 16-A states, "In view of the non-implementation by the Judiciary of the four-day workweek provided under AO 117 dated March 28, 2005, the National Prosecution Service and the Public Attorneys Office are hereby exempted from the coverage of AO Number 117."
The Supreme Court did not issue guidelines on the implementation of the four-day workweek scheme. (JDB)
