SENIOR Superintendent Rogelio Olis, director of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO), will turn over his command to his deputy director as he retires Friday.
Olis, who served the police organization for more than 34 years, had formally said goodbye during a ceremony at 10 a.m.
He will be replaced by Superintendent Rodolfo Bañas, GPPO operations officer, as officer-in-charge while the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 is looking for his successor, someone who has the rank of senior superintendent, a requirement for provincial directors.
Olis served for two years, seven months and eight days as Guimaras police director.
He served as human resource development division chief of PRO-6 before he was assigned at the GPPO.
Neither a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy nor the Philippine National Police Academy, he started as a reserved official after he completed a four-year course.
He entered the police service in December 1970 and was immediately assigned to the Eastern Service Provincial Command in Cebu.
