Iloilo readies 18 billeting schools By Jay Dooma Balnig
THE Iloilo City and Province Division of School recently unveiled the eighteen billeting schools for the Palarong Pambansa (national games) 2005 which will be held in Iloilo City May 8 to 14.
The Communication and Information Division of the Department of Education Division of Iloilo said the billeting area will house the estimated of 7,500 athletes and delegates for the said national event.
The delegates from the Cordillera Administrative Region were the first to arrive Wednesday and they are now billeted at the Pavia National High School under Dingle, Mina and Banate as host district.
Delegates from Region 1 will be housed in Manduarriao Central Elem. School and the host districts are Batad, Balasan and Bingawan.
Delegates from Region 2 will be housed in Santa Barabara National Comprehensive High School under the host districts, Calinog, Lambunao and Janiuay.
Delegates from Region 3 will be billeted at the Ramon Avancena National High School under Miag-ao and San Joaquin as host districts.
Region 4-A and Region 4-B delegates will stay at the Jaro National High School under Zarraga and Dumangas districts and Rizal Elementary School under San Rafael and Lemery respectively.
Region 5 delegates will be housed in Arevalo Elementary School under Barotac Nuevo and Anilao as host districts.
Region 6 delegates will stay at the Iloilo National High School under Duenas and San Enrique; Region 7 in Pavia Pilot Elementary School under New Lucena and Pototan; Region 8 in Baluarte Elementary School under Carles and Estancia as host districts.
Region 9 will be housed in La Paz Elementary School under San Dionisio and Concepcion; Region 10 in Jalandoni Memorial National High School under Sara, Igbaras and Tubungan; Region 11 in Oton National High School under Leganes and Leon; Region 12 in I. Arroyo Elementary School under Bingawan, Badiangan and San Miguel, Autonomous Region In Muslim Mindanao in Oton Central Elementary School under Tigbauan, Guimbal and Alimodian; and National Capital Region in Santa Barbara Central School under Cabatuan and Maasin as host districts.
Technical Officials will stay in Iloilo National High School under the host district, Passi City.
Meanwhile, Mayor Jerry Trenas vowed to provide sustainable water supply to all the billeting areas so as not to repeat the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association 2005 experience where there was water shortage.
