A fun trip with Supercat By Ramon C. Salvilla
ILOILO's media and travel group had a day of fun and excitement during a trip to Bacolod City dubbed "Lakbay Dagat sa Supercat" last May 27.
After an hour of travel on board TriCat/SuperCat 2002's Sky Lounge, events organizer Toots Jimenez and Supercat Bacolod manager JB Mapa at the Bredco port welcomed the group.
While on board, the participants toured the fast ferry's facilities and were briefed by Captain Lyndon Landay on the Supercat's navigational equipment.
The 403-seater and 50-meter Tri-Cat is equipped with state-of-the-art navigational instruments such as night vision and global positioning systems.
Fully air-conditioned cabin, upholstered seats and wide aisles are all part and parcel of the modern look and design which do not only provide comfort but are also compliant to international safety standards.
Excitement never stopped while on board, with winners of trivia games, getting free round trip tickets.
In Bacolod, the group proceeded to the Negros Occidental Capitol for a courtesy call with Gov. Joseph Marañon, who was holding a press conference with ABS-CBN stars led by network executive Charo Santos-Concio.
Next stop was Ayala North Point, a premier residential subdivision. The group gathered at the clubhouse for cool drinks and then motored to Palmas Del Mar Resort. Resort owner Ronnie Lizares gave the group a tour.
Luncheon was hosted by Casino Filipino Hotel, the last stop for the day's trip. After a sumptuous meal, the group checked out the hotel's gaming facilities.
After a truly enjoyable trip, the group left Bacolod at 3 p.m.
SuperCat leaves Iloilo for Bacolod at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily.(RCS)
