Foot parade to kick off Environment Month rites
THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 6 will hold a foot parade Wednesday, 7 a.m., from Plaza Libertad to the Rotary Amphitheater to kick off the celebration of the Environment Month.
Themed "Green Cities: Plan for the Planet," the activity aims to raise awareness that environmental concern is not the concern of the DENR alone but also of every Filipino citizen.
Other activities are: June 1 to 30, mall exhibit, Robinsons Place, Gaisano City and SM City; June 2, PUV Emission Testing, Capitol; June 4, Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Orientation on Environment Laws and Environment Impact Assessment Process Seminar-Workshop, CPU;
June 5, River Clean-up, Iloilo River; June 6, Lecture on Climate Change, DENR 6 office; June 9, PUV Emission Testing, Jaro plaza; June 10, Family Day and Coastal Clean-up; June 13 to 15, Iloilo City Grand Bazaar, Plaza Libertad;
June 16 to 17, Pollution Control Officers Training Seminar on Environmental Laws and Updates and final judging of T-shirt printing, PCAPI; June 20 to 23, Pre-registration of Walk for a Green Iloilo, Environment Management Bureau Iloilo City;
June 23, Essay Writing, DENR 6 Conference Room; June 24 to 25, Regional Environmental Youth Congress, Green School Planning Workshop, Launching of Green Schools and Environment EX 2005 (exhibit), West Visayas State University;
June 28, Walk Advocacy for a Green Iloilo, Provincial Capitol to downtown Iloilo; June 29, Tree Planting; and June 30, culmination program.
