Antique jail warden faces probe
A JAIL warden of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) of San Jose, Antique is now in "hot water" after he let two inmates carry guns.
Raul Maghari is now under investigation by the Provincial Council of San Jose Antique and Governor Sally Perez for giving gun to inmates Hernan Labanon and Romy Gregorio.
According to reports, Maghari reportedly gave a .45 caliber pistol to Labanon who was charged for murdering a doctor of the Angel Salasar Memorial Hospital in Antique years ago.
Maghari also gave a 12-gauge shotgun to Gregorio who is facing life sentence for murder.
Labanon and Gregorio were seen carrying the firearms along with Maghari during an inspection at cell 9 where an inmate, Eduardo Daniel was detained.
Reports stated that last October 7, Daniel was permitted by the guard to go home but he failed to come back.
Maghari ordered his men to look for Daniel. When he was found and brought back to the jail, his legs were chained as part of his penalty.
On October 13, when Maghari visited Daniel, Gregorio and Labanon who served as Maghari's bodyguards, were seen carrying guns.
With this, the Provincial Council would conduct an investigation on the veracity of the reports. (RPS)
