No guns, liquor, gambling inside cemetery: police By Ruby P. Silubrico
CIVILIANS and members of the Philippine National Police are warned not to bring guns, deadly weapons and avoid gambling inside the cemetery.
Police Regional Office 6 chief Superintendent Doroteo Reyes said this, adding the police are in red alert status for the celebration of All Saints and Souls Day.
Drinking liquor inside the cemetery is also prohibited to avoid any untoward incidents.
Reyes warned that any PNP member caught violating his directives will be slapped with administrative and criminal sanctions.
All provincial and city directors were directed to be in red alert and implement tight security as part of the Oplan Kalag-Kalag or Oplan Kaluluwa especially in vital installations, bus terminals and in cemeteries to avoid sabotage.
City police director Senior Superintendent Norlito Bautista had already instructed all his precinct commanders to dispatch all their available men in their area of responsibility especially in some cemeteries to watch over those who have plans to sabotage the celebration.
The Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) had designated traffic supervisors to spearhead the traffic during the two-day celebrations and to decide for traffic rerouting.
Maximum traffic personnel and traffic aides will be utilized to assist during traffic jam through the augmentation of tanod members.
