Near duel ensues between 2 cops By Ruby P. Silubrico
THE rift between the relieved cops of the Police Precinct 4 (PP4) Molo and their former comrades rages as two policemen almost figured in a duel.
Police Officer 2 Dexter Sevilla, one of those who were relieved two months ago and Police Officer 1 Jonathan Maestrecampo of PP4 pulled out their guns against each other when their paths crossed inside Camp Delgado.
Maestrecampo claimed that he was walking inside Camp Delgado at around 11:30 a.m. when he was accosted by Sevilla who is detailed at the Regional Headquarters Support Group located at the gate.
Sevilla then threatened to kill him and defamed him by saying "G-g- ka nga pulis. Sulod ka pa di liwat kay."
When Maestrecampo answered back, Sevilla pulled his gun. This prompted the former to pull out his gun but they were pacified by Police Officer 2 Herman Borra.
Their argument was later settled after the two were called by Senior Inspector Leroy Rapiz.
Sources claimed that Sevilla thinks that Maestrecampo was among the officers behind their relief, but the latter denied this.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Reynaldo Rafal, regional chief of staff, said there's nothing to worry about because the rift between Sevilla and Maestrecampo is over.
Earlier, a near shoot out also happened between PO2 Sevilla and former Precinct Commander, Insp. Francky Jingle Logo inside the PP4 compound days after he was relieved.
Sevilla, among others, was relieved from his post through the recommendation of their superior. This was approved by City Police Director, Senior Superintendent Norlito Bautista.
Sources said they were relieved because of their links to illegal drugs trade, which they denied.
