Suplico's bro plays santa; squabble within Tupas clan seen By Jay Dooma Balnig
IT'S going to be a hard clash within the Tupas family in the 5th District on the 2007 election as Army Col. Enrique "Boy" Suplico visibly and actively joins the sorties of his brother, outgoing Representative Rolex Tupas Suplico.
Rolex confirmed the he and Col. Boy Suplico both personally distributed P10,000 bonus for teachers in northern Iloilo. The giving was done in Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College-Sara Campus last December 19.
The said amount is part of the 75 percent of the P13-million Suplico Scholarship Cash Fund under the Collective Negotiation Agreement.
The dole-out synchronized with the teachers and employees Christmas Party in Victorino Salcedo College in Sara.
Present are faculties of NIPSC Estancia, Barotac Viejo, Lemery, Batad, Concepcion and Ajuy.
In a previous media interview, Board Member Niel "Jun-jun" Tupas Jr. said he believed that no other candidate for congressman in 5th district will from their family.
However, Col. Boy Suplico is most likely the official candidate of his brother, Rolex for the 2007 congressional race.
The younger Suplico appeared in several gatherings representing his brother, Rolex.
Representative Suplico was accommodated by Governor Niel Tupas Sr. in the congressional seat after the latter's graduation from his third term of service.
Now that Suplico's term will end by 2007, Jun-jun Tupas is expected to be the official candidate of their family for the 2007 congressional race.
Rolex also announced that he is also running for governor in 2007 even his uncle has still another term and good for re-election.
