2 cattle missing in Pavia
By Kathy Villalon Cinco

TWO cattle in Cabugao Sur, Pavia went missing since Monday night, according to SPO2 Pablo Sedo of the Pavia Police Station.

Sedo said that the complainant revealed that the cattle was found missing at 6 a.m. in the morning yesterday and reported it to the police at 8 a.m.

As of presstime, the owner and the police continue to search for the cattle.

"The owner believes that the cattle was stolen by unknown persons. He saw that the rope that was used to tie the cattle was loosened," Sedo said.

Sedo admits that they will find it hard to locate the cattle because the reporting of the incident came too late.

Sedo added that they are very active in their campaign against cattle rustling.
Tuesday last week, five cattle were stolen from a farmer in Brgy. Balabago, Jaro.

Prior to the discovery, a white van was seen passing by in the area.
The same van was seen in several cases of cattle rustling in the province last year.

City Police Director, Senior Supt. Norlito Bautista, said earlier that they had identified that a businessman from Iloilo City is the owner of the said van.

He admitted that the police find it hard to arrest the cattle rustlers because they have no sufficient evidence against them unless they are caught in the act./KVC
