RPA-ABB, uncle tagged in ex-youth leader's death
By Ruby P. Silubrico

MEMBERS of the Revolutionary Proletariat Army - Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) were suspected as the ones who killed a former Sangguniang Kabataan chairman whose body was found in Sitio Tibug, Brgy. Lanag, Leon, Iloilo yesterday.

The decomposing body of Ian Jay Cabalfin, 27, of Brg. Cuyad, Alimodian, Iloilo was finally found after he went missing for almost a month.

Felicita Cabalfin, mother of the victim, said that last Dec. 8, 2005, around 4:30 p.m., her son left the house to go to their farm, but since then, he was not able to come home.

Some of their family members believe that the RPA-ABB probably murdered him after witnesses said that 10 persons picked him up. However, she believes that the victim's uncle was the culprit.

This, after a certain Joebert told her that one of their relatives was the killer.

She added that her son and his uncle had a misunderstanding before he went missing.

Cabalfin's body was found through the help of a farmer who saw a group of persons digging in the hilly portion of Barangay Lanag.

The Cabalfin family and barangay officials headed by Johnny Valentin, went to the area to check it out until they saw the victim's hands.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) from Camp Delgado pulled out the cadaver from the three-foot hole.

Meanwhile, the Leon police are investigating who the perpetrators were.
