2 robbery incidents take place in just an hour By Ruby P. Silubrico
A DAY after the 'lampitaws' operated against thieves in the city, two robbery incidents happened within an hour along General Luna St., Iloilo City Tuesday.
The first incident happened at around 4 a.m. victimizing Oliver Dela Cruz, 33 of Ybiernas St., Iloilo City.
The victim was reportedly standing when the three robbers, armed with knives, declared a hold-up. Dela Cruz was quick enough to resist them but sustained wounds on his hands and is now confined at the Iloilo Doctor's Hospital.
The robbers were not able to get his valuables.
An hour later, Butz Francisco, 19 of Phase 3, Bankers Village, Jaro was held-up by two persons. They were able to get his mobile phone, P100 cash and his cap.
Inspector Dande Deocampo, chief of the Police Precinct 1 (PP1), said that he suspects the perpetrators of the two hold-ups belong to one group.
Deocampo vowed to solve the cases through their intelligence operatives or their 'lampitaws.'
"The robbers shifted their mode of operation because they could no longer do it during the day or late at night because of our police visibility. But we will arrest them soon," Deocampo said.
