Owner of vehicle in Mandurriao shooting known
By Ruby P. Silubrico

THE identity of the owner of the vehicle used in a shooting incident Sunday morning at Benigno Aquino Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City was known.

Senior Inspector Kim Legada, chief of Police Precinct 5 confirmed Tuesday that the owner of the Mitsubishi Adventure with plate number FEF741 is Evangeline Galvez of Jereos, La Paz.

Legada said this confirmation was based on the record of the Land Transportation Office 6 (LTO6).

Legada revealed that Galvez has a son named Ryan who was said to be the one driving the vehicle during the incident.

Two counts of frustrated murder will be filed against the suspects within this week after one of their companions revealed their identities to the police.

Legada said their witness revealed that a certain Tonton was the one who shot the two victims while Ryan Galvez was driving the vehicle.

The witness further said there was no altercation that happened between Galvez's group and that of the victims, thus it was only a "tripping".

The victims were Eric Sarabia, 19 and Joy Hojilla, 23.

"The charges will be filed within this week because we already have witnesses who are willing to testify against their friends," Legada said.

The victims were shot at around 1:30 a.m. while they were standing in front of a Korean Restaurant.

Legada said this was the fifth incident that happened in his area.

Previously, two incidents took place at the MO2 Resto Bar allegedly involving businessman Kenneth Chua and Clint Soliva, son of businessman Nilo Soliva; one at the Calzada Bar victimizing a janitor.
