Miss Philippines-Earth WV 2006 candidates known
THE search for Miss Earth Western Visayas has started when the candidates were presented to the members of the media last Saturday at Mang Inasal, SM City Iloilo.
During the media launch, the candidates were asked as regards their reason for joining the pageant and what role they are playing for the protection of our environment.
The candidates were one in saying that the country's environmental problems include air pollution, illegal fishing and degradation of our forests, among others, which stemmed from the lack of discipline and poverty.
The candidates are Girlie Ocos, Ella Marie Charlene Reyes, Joan Sumido, Kathy Guzman, Casandra Lobaton, May Ann Pagunzan, Jane Baruis, Cherry Mae Destriza, Eden Ansino and Riss Dosado.
Witness these beautiful, intelligent and talented ladies on the following dates:
March 30, 2 p.m., Talent Presentation, SM City Iloilo; April 1, 3 p.m., Swimsuit Competition, Dos Hijas Resort, Carles, Iloilo; and April 7, 7 p.m., Pageant Proper, Coral Ballroom of the Amigo Terrace Hotel.
The winner will represent the region in the Miss Philippines-Earth national pageant on May 14, 9 p.m. at the University of the Philippines Theater, Diliman, Quezon City.
The Miss Earth international pageant will be held on Nov. 15, 2006 at Santiago, Chile.
