Capitol distributes anti-rabies vaccines to towns today By Ian C. Espada
THE Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Veterinary Office will distribute Monday vials of anti-rabies vaccines to all municipalities in the Province of Iloilo.
The distribution will be conducted after the flag raising ceremony Monday at the capitol ground to be spearheaded by Governor Niel D. Tupas, Sr.
This activity is part of the one-time-high-density mass vaccination of dogs provincewide, which will kickoff in the Municipality of Oton tomorrow.
The vaccination will last for three months to reach the 80 percent target of dog vaccinated.
The immunity of vaccines to be distributed has a lasting effect of three years.
Tupas also vowed to earmark P500,000 to be utilized in the purchase of anti-rabies vaccines.
He also called for the cooperation of the local chief executives by fully implementing their dog control ordinances to contain the spread of rabies in the province.
Tupas also appealed to all to be responsible dog owners so to help solve the problem that beset the province and encouraged them to have their pets vaccinated.
