Indramaya West Java is located 250 kilometers from Jakarta with a vast land area composed of 120,000 hectares, one fourth of which is rice lands and also known as among the top rice and fish producers.

Agriculture officials from Southeast Asian countries like Pakistan, India, Thailand and Vietnam attended the seminar.

Dumangas is a champion and grandslam winner on Disaster Management Program in the country and Distura said he shared his experience in his town, like the integration of climate information projects and policies, agriculture, health, education and socio-economic enterprise. "Through these, we can help our country's economy," he said.

"It's an honor for me to be the only Filipino and mayor in the said activity highlighting as being the official adviser of the Mayor's League of the Philippines on disaster management and my town Dumangas as a consistent awardee on disaster management program," Distura told Sun.Star during a telephone interview.

Mobile education

Recently, Distura has launched project "Rolly", a mobile school as part of his education program which aims to help out-of-school youths and unemployed parents to learn more in order to ensure their family's survival.

Bystanders who are not able to study because of poverty have the chance to learn and pursue their education through project "Rolly."
