Jaro wins the U-17 basketball crown

JARO District won game 2 (55-45) sweeping the championship against City Proper in the finals of the Mayors Cup 2006 (U-17 Inter District Basketball Tournament) and thus became the champion of the tournament.

Before the start of game 2 the members of the Mythical Team was awarded its medals namely: Michael Tongol (Molo District), Radi Hermanos (City Proper District), Keith Mangaran (Jaro District), Rojo (City Proper District) and Bibaoco (Jaro District) and the for the Defensive Team: Michael Tongol (Molo District), Radi Hermanos (City Proper District), Keith Mangaran (Jaro District), Alenaje (Jaro District) and Bibaoco (Jaro District). The MVP award went to Keith Mangaran of Jaro District.

The Jaro Team was coached by Aron Blanca while the City Proper Team was guided Brgy. Capt. Melchor Conte. It was a very emotional win for Jaro for holding the no. 1 team record after the elimination. A lot of pressure was put on the players to deliver their best in this tournament.

For the City Proper it was an exciting rally for the entire tournament for they knocked out Lapuz in their crossover match. The third place went to Molo District which was coached by Rudolph Ganzon.
