Prov'l board member explains lack of anti-rabies vaccines

PROVINCIAL Board Member Niel D. Tupas Jr., chairman of the Committee on Appropriations of the Provincial Board explained that there would be delays in providing anti-rabies vaccines.

He wanted to inform that the public that it would take one month to disburse the fund for anti-rabies vaccines and any other allocation in the supplemental budget like those for the Bantay Dagat and the anti-drug abuse funds.

In a broadcast over Aksyon Radyo, he said that though there is already an allocated fund for the anti-rabies vaccines, the board is till to discuss the release of the money in the first and second reading.

After that, the Provincial Board would vote for the release of the amount. If the release is approved, the board would forward the approval to the Department of Budget and Management for review. After the latter finds the release justifiable, the money will then be approved for release.

Tupas makes the supplemental budget allocation and proposes the same to the board for approval.

The issue on the release was discussed after there were complaints of the lack and insufficiency of anti-rabies vaccines in the province. (LABB)
