Prov'l board congratulates Filipino boxers for victory

THE Provincial Board congratulated all four Filipino boxers who won over their Mexican counterparts in Sunday.
Proponent of the resolution, Board Member Janeda Salcedo, initially centered her resolution on Manny Paquiao's victory over Oscar Larios, but Majority Floor Leader Board Member Rodolfo Cabado amended the resolution by the inclusion of three other Filipino boxers in their resolution.
Three other Filipinos who claimed victory over Mexican opponents in the undercard matches were Jimrex Jaca who won over Hector Marquez; Gerry Peñalosa against Tomas Rojas and Czar Amonsot over Silverio Ortiz.
The triumph of Paquiao over Oscar Larios was the highlight of the boxing event last Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Paquiao regained his title as the champion in International Super Featherweight.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo also commended the victory they claimed.
