Civic group celebrates 10th anniversary
THIS year marks Panay Rural Development Center Inc.'s 10th year of nurturing self-determining communities within the Magapa-Suague River Basin in central Iloilo.
Visits to its various project sites, a series of medical missions, an exhibit, a book launching and a grand program for its partners will be held to commemorate the organization's 10th year.
The event kicks off with a medical mission in barangay Canauili, Janiuay on Monday, July 10 where municipal health officers (MHOs) and other health workers will provide medicines and primary health services to local residents. Two other medical missions are scheduled on Wednesday, July 12, at barangay Tambal also in Janiuay and on Friday, July 14 at Barangay Bitaoyan, Badiangan.

A photo, information and products exhibit of PRDCI's programs will formally open at the New Iloilo Capitol Lobby on July 12 with Iloilo Governor Niel Tupas as guest speaker. On July 13, guests will be brought to various project sites like the organic vegetable production areas, nursery for indigenous tree species and organic rice farm in Janiuay; tree-growing sites in Badiangan; System of Rice Intensification (SRI) site and salted eggs production center in Mina; and the showcase Integrated Diversified Farm (IDFS) in New Lucena.

Tokens and plaques of appreciation will also be given to PRDCI's various partners in government, academe, NGOs and the communities who have helped PRDCI impart its development thrusts in the Magapa-Suague River Basin. (Press release)
