Police hunt 4 suspects in old couple's death By Ruby P. Silubrico
FOUR persons--including two brothers--are now being hunted by the police for the death of a couple last Friday morning at Muyco St., Sara, Iloilo.
The police, however, refused give their names so as not to jeopardize their operation.
The four were tagged as the ones who shot to death Ramon Diocanes and his wife Marlyn, both 75 years old.
One of the witnesses, alias Toto, said he was in the tree house near the Diocanes' house when he heard gunfire at around 2 a.m.
Later, he saw two men coming out from the house. Minutes later, the victims' son told him what had happened.
When they arrived in the crime scene, they saw the couple outside their room and riddled with gunshot wounds.
The police's investigation revealed that the suspects entered by destroying the jalousies at the back portion of the house. Ramon may have noticed this, thus he was shot. The police said that Marlyn came out and shouted for help but was shot, too.
Probers further said that a month ago, two brothers who are tenants of the victims were accused by the latter of stealing their plow that was being used for their rice field.
Police said that the brothers may have gotten mad and killed the couple.
Two counts of murder will be filed against the suspects within the week.
