Village chief dies in vehicular accident

A VILLAGE chief died Saturday morning after the tricycle he was riding was hit by a truck in Barangay Malandog, Hamtic Antique.

Antonio Guerero, 58, village head of La Paz, Hamtic, Antique, succumbed to an injury on his head and body.

The driver of the truck is Mark Perry Mendoza of Pulaw Hamtic.

The accident happened at 7:30 p.m.

Mendoza surrendered to the Hamtic Police Station and said the incident was an accident. He said that an engine trouble caused him to lose control of the truck. When he tried to apply the breaks, the truck hit the tricycle.

He said that he is willing to help with the victim's burial. (RPS)
