A unique spa experience

"THE concept of a spa party is quite contradictory." Such is the statement of Babes Rivera, owner of Spa Riviera. "When you talk about going to the spa, you would readily visualize an atmosphere of relaxation and solitude while a party connotes otherwise."
Spa Party is a novel concept yet in Iloilo City. And indeed, what is it really anyway? Well, I can only describe my own indulgent experience, so to speak, as one of Babes' recent privileged party guests in a delightful, unwinding, delicious... Ahh, just read on. Soft curtains, dim lights, cool fruity aroma, fresh plants, reclining and massage chairs on the sides, throw-pillows around a low center table with chips and dips and Sicilian pasta. This is the sight that welcomed me along with Babes' warm hug as I entered her spa party. It was relaxing and exciting for me, both at the same time. I mean, I've never been in a party like this before. "Did you know that Claudine Barreto held her bridal shower in a spa?" Babes proudly conveyed. She then called one of her attendants to offer me choices of their spa services that included back massage, facial, foot massage, manicure, pedicure, among others. And the rest was totally-awesome-history.
Spa Riviera typically offers spa party packages and so far, is the first and only in Iloilo. Most of their clients have been medical practitioners who, after a grueling scientific seminar or the likes, would readily favor a soothing massage or facial. They have a separate floor in the Jabez Building along General Luna Street for parties like this and the place has been arranged with an air-conditioned room to accommodate seminars and talks with a long rectangular table, a mini bar, audio-video system, and extra space for various spa treatments. The spa party concept also extends an exotic and unique get together with friends and loved ones for birthdays, reunions, bridals, or even that high-powered all ladies corporate getaway. What I had in mind, actually, was some sort of an all-mommys treat.
I realized that going to the spa is even more enjoyable if you do it in a group, especially with friends or loved ones. You get to take some time off from the pressures of work and daily hassles, "be treated like a queen" according to editor-in-chief Kathy Cinco, and still enjoy a running conversation talking about lighter things with lots of joking around with people you know. It is fun and refreshing!
Spa Riviera has been in business since September 2000 as a sole venture of Babes Riviera and expanded into a corporation in July 2003. The spa is proud to have kept its true and honest business principle of "money-back guarantee, no questions asked" ever since. An unsatisfied customer can get a refund of his or her money or opt for another and added service instead.
Spa Riviera now offers spa party packages at a very affordable price and superb treatments. "This new service is actually a move to cater an already existing need," says Babes Rivera.
