2-hour brownouts to hit city till Friday

STARTING Wednesday until Friday, parts of Iloilo City will have no power for two hours, from 10 a.m. to noon or from noon to 2 p.m.

The brownouts have been scheduled to allow the city's sole power producer, Mirant-owned Panay Power Corp. (PPC), to check the maintenance of its plant, a PPC statement said Tuesday. Panay Power also cautioned that the schedule of the brownouts might change.

Portions of Avancena, Fundidor, Compania Molo district and the whole of Arevalo district will have no power from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

From noon to 2 p.m., the brownout will be at the PLDT compound and portions of San Juan, San Antonio, Compania Maritima, Lopez Jaena, Makinaugalingon printing press, Baluarte, Dragon Lodge, Sophia, Molo Blvd., San Juan, Molo, Blvd, Calumpang, Juntado Subd. in Molo district, and a portion of Calaparan in Arevalo district.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be no power in parts of Baldoza, Ingore, Villa San Lorenzo, Jalandoni Estate, Libertad, Bangkerohan, Lapuz Norte, Sinikway, Don Esteban Bo. Obrero, Mansaya, Loboc.

On Thursday, from 10 a.m. to noon, the brownout will occur in parts of San Marcos San Pedro, San Jose, Iloilo Supermart-Molo, E-ventus PLDT, River Front Hospital, parts of MH del Pilar, BIR, DSWD, Iloilo City National High School, John B. Lacson, La Fiesta Hotel, Hotel del Rio, portion of IBRD, F&E, Pag-ibig, portion of Mapa, Tabucan in Mandurriao District.

From noon to 2 p.m., it's going to hit portions of Avancena, San Jose, VML Subdivision, Imperial Subdivision, Compania Central, and at Superior air product in Molo District.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be no power in parts of Baldoza, Plaza Lapaz, Burgos, Magdalo, Arroyo, portion of Luna, ISA, Hechanova portion of Magsaysay, Westbridge School.

On Friday at 10 a.m. to noon, there will be no power in portions of Huervana, Luna and Lagada, in Gaisano City, Golden Delta.

Then at noon to 2 p.m., there will be an outage in part of IBRD, El 98, Jaro Big Market, Calubihan, Dungo A&B, portion of Sambag, Horseshoe Village, in Jaro district, the whole of Mandurrioa except Tabucan, San Rafael and Barangay Bolilao.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the brownout will be at Jalandoni St. Villa Matilde Subd., Commission Civil, Archbishop Plaace, Plaza Jaro, E. Lopez, San Jose College, De Paul, San Vicente, DB Ledesma, Mission Hospital, Mission road and extension, WVSU, INHS, Del Carmen, Javellana, M Jayme, Don Francisco, MH del Pilar, Seminary road, Jaro Catedral, Claudio Lopez, Castillas, Dona Maria Bldg., in Jaro district, portion of Luna, Baptist Center Church, ABS-CBN, PLDT, WIT main Bldg. St Clements, Iloilo Sport complex, and part of Magsaysay Village in Lapuz district.
