Barias axes Bacolod police officer
A BACOLOD policeman who lied about his records was ordered suspended by Police Regional Director Geary Barias.
This decision came after the summary hearing board of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office found Senior Police Officer 4 Jose Ma. G. Salvacion liable guilty of dishonesty as charged.
The case stemmed from a complaint of a fellow police officer against Salvacion, who had just been promoted to SPO4.
During the regular promotion in 2004, Salvacion submitted a certificate of having completed the INP Supervisors Course Class No. 6-30 from February 16 to March 31,1989. He also noted this down in his personal data sheet.
When his credentials were verified, he was found to have not undergone such training.
Lawyer Aaron R. Lizaran, chief of the Regional Legal Service of the PRO 6, concurred with the findings of the Board and recommended an administrative penalty of 60 days suspension from the police service against Salvacion.
Lizaran also recommended the nullification of Salvacion's promotion and subsequently his demotion to SPO3.
Barias approved the recommendations yesterday.
