Police say cadaver not of teener's killer By Ruby P. Silubrico
THE Chief of Mandurriao Police confirmed Tuesday that the salvage victim found recently in Barangay Abangay Janiuay was not the man who attempted to rape and killed a 19-year-old girl in Bakhaw Mandurriao.
Inspector Orly Gabinte of Mandurriao Police, said he body was not of Philip Jinon's because the latter had a tattoo of his wife "Helen" on his body.
"I'm sure that he was not Jinon because the latter has a tattoo on his body while the cadaver has none," Gabinete said.
Jinon was tagged as the one who attempted to rape and killed Myra Gellangarin last Sunday. He remains at large but the Mandaurriao and the Iloilo City Police Office are now hunting him.
City Director Norlito Bautista has ordered for Jinon's arrest and imprisonment.
On the other hand, SPO2 Alfredo Provido of Janiuay Police Station said the cadaver has yet to be identified.
He believes that the victim, who bore stab wounds on the chest, was killed in other places and was only dumped along the road.
