Barias suspends 6 cops for incomplete uniform
By Ruby P. Silubrico

SIX police officers of the Police Regional Office were suspended while three police chiefs were warned for not wearing their complete uniform while on duty.

They were found out when Police Regional Director Geary Barias did an on-the-spot inspection recently.

Slapped with one day suspension were Senior Police Officer 1 Ruben Santocildes of San Joaquin Police Station, Senior Police Officer 2 Ronito Hinguillo, Senior Police Officer 1 Rene Hare and Police Officer 1 Joseph Hare all of Dumarao Police Station, Senior Police Officer 3 Peter Doronilla and Senior Police Officer 2 Fernando Deocos, both of Dumangas Police Station.

Reprimanded for command responsibility were Officer-In-Charge of San Joaquin Police Station Senior Police Officer 1 Diosdado Chavez, Inspector Elton Arcangeles of Dumarao Police Station and Senior Police Officer 4 Jose Molleje, deputy chief of police of Dumangas Police Station.

"I came up with this decision because their explanation was neither good enough nor convincing. The police should wear proper uniform during their duty because it's quite displeasing that our men are only wearing half uniform," Barias said.

He explained that if a policeman is found not wearing the complete uniform for the first time, he will be issued a warning. If he repeats the same offense, suspension will follow.

He added that all bonuses will be forfeited.

"This is high time for the city and provincial directors to exercise their supervisory function to their lower units because it could not be done by the regional director alone. They have to act, too. I hope that with this scheme, there would be improvements on our men," Barias said.
