Councilor tells police: do something By Jay Dooma Balnig
CITY Councilor Erwin Plagata, chairman of the Committee on Police Matters and Public Safety, urged members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to do something on the reported kidnapping incident.
"Something must be done," Plagata said.
A news blackout on the issue led Plagata to call on the police to establish whether or not there was a kidnapping.
"In the event that the victims would not surface or cooperate, the police must exert effort in establishing the incident. This, even just for their consumption." he added.
If the Philippine National Police (PNP) could establish that a kidnapping transpired, then this is the time that they could strengthen their intelligence work, Plagata said.
When asked on what he thinks is the reason why the victim refused to cooperate with the police, Plagata said, "We cannot blame the victim. Maybe he is not fully satisfied with the protection that the PNP could give."
