Cebu Pacific flies Manila-Kuala Lumpur for only P1,499

CEBU Pacific (CEB) will start flying a direct service from Manila to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia four times weekly starting November 30, 2006 with a special introductory offer of only P1,499 one-way.

The Kuala Lumpur seat sale will run from October 11 to 18 only.

The Manila-Kuala Lumpur service will be operated using CEB’s brand new Airbus A319 aircraft and is scheduled to operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The flight departs from Manila at 8:55pm, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 a.m. the following day.

The flight then leaves Kuala Lumpur at 1:10 a.m. and arrives back in Manila at 5 a.m.

The airline will launch its Manila-Kuala Lumpur service with a seat sale fare of only P1,499 one-way, a price cut of almost 90% from the current fares for this route.

This promo will run from October 11 to 18 and is good for travel from November 30, 2006 to January 31, 2007. Fare is exclusive of surcharges and government tax.

CEB will operate from the KL International Airport, Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) with ground handling facilities provided by Kuala Lumpur Airport Services (Klas).

“We’re proud to be the only Filipino carrier operating on the Manila-Kuala Lumpur route. With the opening of this new regional destination, we hope to stimulate travel for both leisure and business sectors which will definitely benefit the economies of both the Philippines and Malaysia,” Lance Gokongwei, CEB President and CEO said.

Malaysia is known for its business and tourist attractions such as its Lake Gardens, Central Markets and the Petronas Twin Towers -– The world’s second tallest building, symbolizing Malaysia’s astounding economic growth over the last decade.

“Kuala Lumpur is our fifth regional destination and the seventh new destination opened this year. As we continue with our expansion program, we remain dedicated to our vision to bring travel closer to more Filipinos by continuing to provide the lowest fares to any destination we fly to. We are also excited about the prospects of providing the lowest cost direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Manila as this will surely help grow tourist arrivals from Malaysia,” Gokongwei added.

After the seat sale, the lowest ‘Go’ fare to Kuala Lumpur starts from P1,999 one-way, still more than 85% lower than the current fares for this route. The best way to get tickets is through the airline’s website (www.cebupacificair.com).

Now in its 11th year, CEB has the newest fleet in the Philippines and one of the newest in Asia as it operates 12 brand new Airbus aircraft for its 20 domestic and 5 regional destinations. The airline awaits the delivery of two more Airbus aircraft in early 2007 to complete its $670 million re-fleeting program.
