A SUM of P4, 980,000 was approved for release by the City Council Wednesday for the anniversary bonuses of the City Hall’s regular employees.
A total of 1,660 employees will be given P3,000 each.
The P5 million was charged to the City’s Personnel Benefits Fund and it will be released on Nov. 9, 2006.
Councilor Joe Espinosa III, Committee on Appropriations chairman, said that the anniversary bonus was mandated by a Department of Budget and Management (DBM) circular which directs that the regular employees of the local government should be afforded of an anniversary bonus every five years.
This was the third time that the City Government gave out cash to its regular employees as their anniversary bonus since 1996.
The first was in Nov. 9, 1996; the second was on Nov. 9, 2001 and the third will be on Nov. 9, 2006.
