EVEN in last quarter of the year, there is no stopping for tourism promotion in the province of Iloilo, both from the municipal and the national levels.
Preparing for the region’s grandest tourism event, the Best of the Region Tourism Assembly, the Iloilo Tourism Officers Association (ITOA) will get a taste of what it is like mounting one grand presentation of the provinces’ best festivals, products and destination.
With the workload heavier -- and challenging, from every imaginable sites to extreme festivities, the association has made its way by promoting the province as a destination for all season and reason.
With Iloilo’s reputation as the gateway for foreign and domestic tourists in the region has made tourism promotion as one of the priority program for the provincial government.
It’s a good thing the Regional Office of the Department of Tourism has taken the initiative to organize Wow Philippines: the Best of the Region, outside of Manila and celebrate in Iloilo City where every Ilonggos can immerse themselves in something that, the past years, only the people of Metro Manila can enjoy.
The Best of the Region Tourism Assembly is a government entity through its various Regional Tourism Office, created to promote the region’s natural resources and tourism services, and by bringing people from various provinces in the region together where they can exchange ideas through product exhibits and selling, conferences and cultural presentations.
A small province with Hispanic characteristics and endless richness, Iloilo is one of the most charming provinces in the region. The geographic diversity of its 42 municipalities and a component city has given rise to thousands of natural and man-made destinations.
Teeming with so much life, it is no wonder that the province is one of the country’s top and a tourism destination visited by thousands to appreciate its beautiful landscapes.
The juicy details are just waiting for a little more squeeze. With the Iloilo Provincial booth, visitors are assured to know and treasure this remarkable province.

The Iloilo Province Day closes the weeklong festival on October 29, 2006 by treating everyone with a grand presentation of music, dances and fashion from 4-8 in the evening at the SM City Activity Center.
Even if you have no intention of blowing cash for the week, it’s a good experience and a far cry from the bustle at school and at the office.
