THREE persons were arrested on Friday night including a minor while they were having a pot session at a waiting shed in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo.

The three were reportedly seen sitting on a bench at the village's waiting shed at around 10 p.m. and using dried marijuana leaves.

ICPS 6 personnel SPO2 Romulo Felicio and PO2 Rex Wendam approached them. The three tried to escape but they were later subdued and arrested.

They will be facing charges for violation of Art. II, Section 15 or the use of dangerous drugs.

This provides that any person apprehended who is found to be positive of drugs after confirmatory test shall be imposed a penalty a minimum of six months rehabilitation in a government center for the first offense.

If any person arrested for the second time he/she shall suffer a penalty of an imprisonment ranging from six years to 12 years and a fine of P50,000.

ICPS 6 chief Inspector Federico Silvestre said this is part of their non-stop campaign against illegal drugs.

Last week, the Police Regional Office 6 and the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency 6 burned around 17 kilos of marijuana leaves and two grams of shabu that they seized from 1985 to 1989.

With this, Regional Police Director Geary Barias warned the people to avoid using and selling drugs for they would be held liable.
