Seventeen-year old Maiki is an active sports enthusiast at St. Poveda College where she's currently a high school senior.
Maiki is a varsity athlete for softball and tennis and has also indulged in badminton, ice skating, ballet and gymnastics.
"Sports is my world. I thought it was a joke," she told the media yesterday. The eldest daughter of Rafael Montilla Abello and Ma. Presentacion Lopez-Abello, said that she felt excited and honored after realizing that the news of her being the queen of Jaro, was serious.
"We intend to hold a sportsfest here," she revealed.
Making the district a sports haven and influencing the youth to get into this as well as turning the city as a greener metropolis is among her objectives. She is involved in social development projects like Gawad Kalinga, feeding and "paint a school." She is also an environmentalist.
She is also a responsible sister to her four siblings. Maiki admits that there are arguments between them but this gets settled immediately.

Her princesses included her younger sister Veronica Antonia, cousin Marianna Carmela Isabel Lopez Vargas, Angelie Sorongon Ong and Camille Ann Venture Gallardo.
