Villanueva was riding his motorcycle with Cenal and were already escaping when the police caught them.

It was learned that Villanueva's mother and Cenal's father are cousins.

Cenal was tagged in shooting to death Police Officer 1 Leo Cortel at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday while inside the dance hall of Barangay Talisay, Barotac Nuevo.

Witnesses said prior to the incident, Cortel's friend Police Officer 2 Peter Hautea and Cenal had a heated argument after the latter reportedly created an annoyance.

Upon seeing the two arguing, Cortel told Cenal to calm down but the latter fought back.

This forced Cortel to slap Cenal, but it was later settled.

After the incident, Cortel was reportedly frisking Cenal's friend Mark Artas when Cenal suddenly appeared and shot him at the back of the head with a .38 revolver.

Cenal then fled and reportedly sought help from Villanueva until the police spotted then while escaping.

Villanueva, a former enlisted member of the Philippine Air Force will be charged for harboring a criminal and for obstruction of justice.

Villanueva and Cenal are detained at the cell of the Barotac Nuevo Police Station.
