The results were announced on Sunday, where Tribu Tultugan, Malones' honed tribe was at the 3rd place and failed to defend its title as last year's champion in the Kasadyahan competition.

Malones is eyeing for a board membership in the third district during the May polls this year. Thus, it was the last performance of his tribe where he had exerted effort as its manager and municipal mayor.

Over Aksyon Radyo Iloilo Monday, he expressed his disappointment over the results but has however accepted that they were not lucky to have earned the votes of the judges. One of the judges was the Cultural Center of the Philippines President Nestor Jardin. Others came from various schools here, which cater to dance and music.

He said many of the teachers of the participating dancer-warriors were not contented with the results. He said the Tribu Tultugan used indigenous materials, mostly bamboo, which their municipality is most popular of, for the dancers' costume and in creating music for the dance.

Indigenous materials, he said would be mostly encouraged, as stated in the competition's criteria. However, the best in music award was hurled by Tribu Kahilwayan of Sta. Barbara, the new champion which was also the champion of the competition for many times. Kahilwayan has not able to participate last year.

The champion of the competition is given the chance to join the Aliwan fiesta in Metro Manila where P1 million is at stake for the champion.

The results though, did not dishearten the members and supporters of the tribe to again join the competition and make it better.
