Cop's brod shot dead
By Ruby P. Silubrico

A BROTHER of a police officer was shot dead Sunday in front of his live-in partner while driving a passenger jeepney at Lopez Jaena St., Baluarte, Molo.

Pinoy Votes: Sun.Star Election 2007

Investigator of the Iloilo City Police Station 4, Police Officer 2 Norbert Sipoli said the victim was identified as Dennis Segutier of Infante, Molo.

Segutier has succumbed to a gunshot wound on the left portion of his head.

Sipoli said the incident happened at around 5:15 a.m. while Segutier was driving a passenger jeep with his live-in partner Moren Morales, when two persons flagged them down.

Thinking that the two persons were passengers, Segutier stopped the jeepney. Then, one of the two persons went directly to the driver's seat and shot Segutier once hitting the left part of his head.

The perpetrators escaped by passing through Barangay Kasing-Kasing, Molo and remained at large as of press time.

Probers could not yet establish the motive behind the killing.

"We are considering all possible angles if either a love triangle or a personal grudge as the motive of the crime," Sipoli said.

Segutier was the younger brother of Senior Police Officer 3 Willie Segutier, who is assigned at Police Regional Office in Western Visayas in Camp Delgado.
