Saturday, May 05, 2007 Japanese nabbed for 'abusing' sex worker
POLICE arrested a Japanese national for allegedly maltreating a commercial sex worker who had refused to have sex with him inside of a motel in Baluarte, Molo on Friday.
The arrest of Ryo Konishi, 25, a resident Granplains Subdivision, Jaro, was based on the complaint of a 20-year-old commercial sex worker. Konishi is now detained at the Iloilo City Police Station 4.
The girl said prior to the incident, she agreed to have sex with the Japanese in exchange for money.
She said they checked in a motel based in Baluarte and after having sex, Konishi asked if they could have another one. She rejected the Japanese's request and instead asked him to pay her, but the suspect refused.
The suspect told her that he would only pay her after having another sex, she said.
The girl said a heated argument ensued between her and Konishi, until the suspect grabbed her cell phone and hit her in the face. She said the suspect also punched her.
According to her, she shouted for help until two room boys arrived that prompted Konishi to run away, but some residents in the area ganged up on him.
The girl said she would file a physical injury charge against Konishi. (RPS)
