Woman's cadaver found in a well

PERSONNEL of the Iloilo City Police Station 2 are looking into possible foul play on the death of a 24-year-old woman whose body was found on Thurday, inside a well at Block 7, Sinikway Lapuz, La Paz, Iloilo City.

The relatives of Mary Joy Albelar found her body at around 9 a.m. inside of a well near their house.

Albelar's niece, who was sleeping with her, said in a radio interview that she was no longer on her bed at around 1 a.m., when her niece woke up.

Her niece then told her relatives and started to look for her until they saw the slippers of Albelar beside the well.

When they checked inside, they saw Albelar's floating body.

Her body was retrieved through the help of the Black Panther Volunteer Group headed by Captain Jeorge Dairo and her neighbors.

Dairo said that she might have fallen down the well accidentally.

On the other hand, probers are now coordinating with the victim's family and relatives to ascertain the real reason of the death.

Albelar's family told the police that they did not notice any unusual act or indicators of suicide.

Her family members pointed out that there is no reason for somebody to kill her since she does not usually go out and had no enemy in their place.
